Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Fabio Da Silva from Cardiff City for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 26-year-old Brazil international full-back has put pen to paper on a two-year contract at the Riverside after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
The former Manchester United defender had only one year left on his contract at Cardiff and was left out of the Bluebirds' matchday squad for the opening day draw at Birmingham last weekend.
Fabio, who was capped twice by Brazil in 2011, spent the 2012/13 season on loan at Queens Park Rangers before joining Cardiff in January 2014 after failing to establish himself as a first-team regular at United.
He made 68 appearances during his two-and-a-half years at Cardiff, scoring once in a 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough at the Riverside last season.
Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has been busy in the transfer market this summer and Fabio becomes the 10th new arrival ahead of their Premier League opener against Stoke City on Saturday.
