Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton has signed a new four-year contract.
The 28-year-old's previous deal - signed when he joined in a £1.5m move from Huddersfield in 2014 - was set to expire in 2018.
Clayton has been an integral part of Aitor Karanka's side, fighting to stay in the Premier League after promotion last season, making 20 league starts.
And the player said it is "really good" to finally commit at least four more years to the Riverside.
He said: "It's been going on in the background for a few weeks so to get it over the line and guarantee myself coming here for the next couple of years is really good."
Clayton has made 123 appearances for Middlesbrough since his 2014 move from the Terriers.
He began his career as a trainee at Manchester City before signing for Leeds in 2010, after an initial loan spell.
