Swansea boss looking to keep Konstantopoulos
Roberto Martinez has admitted he would like to sign Dimitrios Konstantopoulos on a permanent basis.
The Greek goalkeeper joined Swansea on loan from Coventry in October and he has excelled during his two months at the Liberty Stadium.
He is due to return to Coventry after Sunday's trip to Birmingham but Martinez hopes to come to an agreement to keep him.
"Dimi knows how we work and how we are as a club now and we would love to get him here for a longer period if that is possible," Martinez told the
South Wales Evening Post.
"If we could get him here on a permanent basis, that would be very good for Swansea City.
"But that will depend on how Dimi feels and how Coventry City feel about the situation."
Dorus de Vries has recovered from injury and is Martinez's regular keeper again but Konstantopoulos would appear to have more competition at Coventry, where Chris Coleman has a trio of players vying for the spot.
However, Martinez accepts that a transfer fee could also provide a stumbling block.
He said: "We are not in a situation where we can pay any money now so we will have to see what Coventry say.
"Dimi finishes his contract at the end of the season so it could be that something happens in January."
