Ishmael Miller has joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan, with Nottingham Forest prepared to let him link up with a Championship rival.
Sky Sports revealed earlier on Friday that the striker was
heading for the Riverside Stadium.
A switch to Teesside sees Miller reunited with Tony Mowbray, a man who took him to West Brom from Manchester City in the summer of 2007.
The 25-year-old left the Baggies for Forest in August 2011, but struggled to produce his best at the City Ground.
Miller managed just four goals in 23 appearances last season and was yet to figure this season before Boro came calling.
Excited
He said: "I'm very happy and excited to be reunited with Tony Mowbray and Mark Venus (assistant boss).
"Tony gave me my first shot of playing regular first-team football and I will always be grateful to him for that. Playing for Tony was the best time of my career so far.
"I'm just relishing the opportunity to play for Boro. I was excited when I heard Tony Mowbray was interested in me.
"I had a few different options but Tony knows what I can do and I really enjoy working with him."
