Middlesbrough goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos will look back on 2014 with great fondness as he contemplates an exciting year ahead.
The 36-year-old has established himself as Aitor Karanka's number one and has been instrumental in a run of results which has propelled the club firmly into the race for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
Konstantopoulos told the club's official website: "It's been a good year for me personally.
"I got another contract in the summer and I've had to reclaim the number one spot a couple of times, but I have never doubted my ability.
"I have had to fight through my career as much as any player and I'm happy to do that. If you don't want to play games you should stop playing football.
"It has been good for me to be playing so many games for such a good club. It's been a good year for the club and naturally we're hoping it gets better."
