Defender Milos Veljkovic is to return to Tottenham following his three-month loan spell at Middlesbrough.

The 19-year-old Serbia international has spent the last three months on Teesside, but made only four senior appearances, three of them from the bench.

Boro head coach Aitor Karanka told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank Milos for his efforts while he was here and wish him all the best for the future.

"I'd also like to thank Tottenham for allowing him to come here for three months."

Veljkovic made his debut for the club as a substitute in the 5-1 Sky Bet Championship victory at Millwall on December 6.

His only start came in the 0-0 league draw at Blackburn on December 28, although he played all but the opening five minutes of Boro's 2-0 FA Cup third-round win at Barnsley after replacing the injured Rhys Williams.
