Claudio Ranieri will hold talks with Fulham on Thursday regarding his future, Sky Sports News understands.
The Cottagers slipped further into relegation trouble on Wednesday night, following an away defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton.
Fulham fans chanted against the Italian manager in the stands at St Mary's, and talks will now be held to determine his future.
The 2-0 defeat on the south coast left the club ten points from safety in the Premier League table, with ten matches to play.
A banner containing the words 'Risk free? Are you watching Tony Khan?' was unfurled in reference to comments made by the club's vice-chairman following Ranieri's appointment.
Ranieri arrived at Craven Cottage to replace Slavisa Jokanovic in November but has managed just three wins in 17 matches since taking over.
Fulham return to Premier League action on Sunday, March 3, when they host Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea at Craven Cottage.
An away trip to Leicester City soon follows, before a meeting with current league leaders Liverpool at home on March 17 and Manchester City two weeks later.
