Hearts midfielder Jamie Walker is undergoing a medical at Wigan Athletic following talks over the past week, according to Sky sources.
Walker, 24, is out of contract at the end of the season having rejected Hearts' offer of a new three-year contract last year.
Sky Sports News understands Walker travelled to England on Friday to undergo a medical with the League One leaders ahead of finalising a potential January switch.
Rangers, who had a bid for the winger rejected by Hearts in June 2017, have not made a fresh approach for the player since.
Walker has represented Scotland at every youth level and has made 155 appearances for Hearts in all competitions, scoring 37 goals.
