Brighton have had a second bid rejected by Wigan for midfielder Nick Powell, say Sky sources.
It is understood the fee offered by the Premier League club is well below Wigan's valuation of the former Manchester United player.
Reports have linked Powell to a host of top-flight clubs, with Brighton, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Swansea all suggested to be harbouring an interest in the 23-year-old.
Powell signed for the League One club in 2016 after his contract expired at Manchester United, after spending a season on loan at Wigan in the 2013/14 season.
During his 18-month spell at the DW Stadium, Powell has made 91 appearances and scored 29 goals.
Manchester United paid Crewe £4m for Powell in June 2012 but his time at Old Trafford was interspersed with loan spells at Leicester City and Hull City, as well as with Wigan.
While at Old Trafford, Powell played just nine times and scored once, which was on his debut in a 4-0 win over Wigan.
