Highlights from the Sky Bet League One match between Wigan Athletic and Leyton Orient.

Wigan fell to two defeats from two in Sky Bet League One as Leyton Orient won 2-0 at the Brick Community Stadium.

The home side almost fell behind in the opening exchanges when an Orient counter attack was only ruined by a desperately poor final ball into the unmarked Jaze Kabia.

Gary Caldwell's men did not heed the warning, however, and Orient took the lead after 15 minutes when Wigan failed to clear their lines and Tony Springett fired home from close range.

Wigan came close to a leveller when Dara Costelloe chased what looked to be a lost cause and forced the error from the last defender, only to lob the ball over Nathan Baxter but on to the roof of the net.

On-loan Chelsea midfielder Reggie Walsh thought he had scored on his Wigan debut with a cracking volley from 15 yards, only to be denied by an offside flag.

After Costelloe fired just wide of the target from the edge of the box, Orient doubled their lead after 58 minutes when a horrible mistake by Jon Mellish was punished by Yusuf Akhamrich from 10 yards.

Wigan threw on five substitutes in the final half an hour to try to get into it, and one of them - Chris Sze - almost scored with his first touch, only to be denied by Orient's replacement goalkeeper Noah Phillips.
