Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Wigan and MK Dons.

Wigan saw off MK Dons 3-1 at the Brick Community Stadium to pick up their first points of the League One season at the fourth attempt.

The home side should have taken the lead when Fraser Murray's shot hit the far post, before seeing his second effort hacked off the line.

But Wigan did go ahead nine minutes before the break when Max Power fed Jensen Weir 25 yards out, and the midfielder sent the ball flying into the roof of the net.

Wigan missed two huge chances in the first half against MK Dons but did the second chance cross the line?

The Latics thought they should have had a penalty when Murray appeared to be pushed to the ground in the box, only for the referee to wave play on before booking home boss Gary Caldwell for his protests.

The Dons came close to a leveller just before half-time following a scramble from a corner, with deadline-day signing Joe Whitworth making a superb stop from point-blank range.

Wigan took full advantage by doubling their lead three minutes into the second period when skipper Power fired home from just outside the box.

It was 3-0 after 74 minutes when Weir scored his second fine goal with his right foot.
