Wigan chairman has wait-and-see policy
Dave Whelan is unconcerned about a quiet summer so far in the transfer market for his club.
The Latics have yet to sign any new players, and they have also fended off moves for Victor Moses by
rejecting an offer from Chelsea for the Nigerian international.
Roberto Martinez's squad has been shorn of five players since the end of last season, with Hugo Rodallega, Momo Diame, Steve Gohouri, Chris Kirkland and Hendry Thomas all having left the DW Stadium having come to the end of their contracts.
But with pre-season training about to start, the Wigan chairman is confident that his manager has new targets in mind.
"There's nothing to worry about as far as the fans are concerned, nothing at all," he declared. "The lads are back in this week and that can sometimes move things along a bit.
"The truth is, we don't really know how busy it's going to be this summer. We lost five players from last year's squad, and those will obviously all have to be replaced.
"But Roberto is already well on to the case. He's always looking and I'm sure things are in good hands."
Wigan
recently offered Moses a new contract that would double the striker's wages, but the 21-year-old has yet to sign it.
"We don't know what will happen as far as who will ask for a move, who will come in for any of our players, who will be signing a new contract," added Whelan.
"All we can do is sit still and wait to see what develops."
