Sheffield United have signed free agent Reece Brown on a short-term deal until January.

The 24-year-old defender is available for Saturday's Sky Bet League One game against leaders Scunthorpe.

Brown, who started his career at Manchester United before going on to play for the likes of Barnsley, Oldham, Doncaster and Ipswich, was available after being released by Bury at the end of last season.

Blades manager Chris Wilder said on www.sufc.co.uk: "He comes in and gives us cover at right-back or right wing-back.

"He adds weight to our squad and knows the division well. He has done everything we have asked of him, trained well and impressed.
