Charlton midfielder joins on loan after El-Abd injury
Brighton & Hove Albion have snapped up Charlton Athletic midfielder Therry Racon on loan until the end of the season.
The Frenchman has made just six appearances for Charlton since moving to The Valley on a four-year contract from Guingamp last summer.
He has been earmarked as one for the future by Addicks boss Alan Pardew, who revealed clubs in France wanted to sign the 23-year-old.
However, Pardew feels it will be more beneficial for Racon's development to build up his experience of English football with Brighton.
"I would like to loan out Therry to a club in England," Pardew told the club's
official website.
"A number of French clubs would like to take him on loan, but I want him to learn the game here because he is a big part of my long-term plans."
League One club Brighton have brought in Racon after Adam El-Abd was ruled out for at least a month with a knee injury.
