Skysports.com understands Charlton are closing in on the signing of Oldham striker Pawel Abbott. The Addicks are understood to have tabled a bid for the Polish forward as Phil Parkinson looks to bolster his attacking options. Abbott only joined Oldham last summer from Darlington and he finished last season as the club's top scorer with 13 goals. However, it appears Oldham are ready to let him move on and that they have accepted Charlton's offer for Abbott. Charlton are also thought to be in the market for another striker and have tabled a bid for a mystery forward as Parkinson looks to build a squad capable of winning promotion.
