Charlton have completed the signing of midfielder Yoni Buyens on a season-long loan deal from Standard Liege.

The 26-year-old had been a regular for Liege since arriving from fellow Belgian side KV Mechelen in 2011, and he has scored 12 times in 103 league appearances.

Buyens started his career, which has so far not seen him leave his homeland, with Lierse and his performances at youth level were enough to see him earn Under-19 and Under-21 recognition.

He becomes new Charlton coach Bob Peeters' first summer signing.
