West Ham remain in negotiations with Besiktas over a deal for winger Gokhan Tore, according to Sky sources, despite having a loan bid rejected.
It is understood the Hammers were keen to secure the 24-year-old on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent move next summer.
However, Besiktas have turned down the bid and told West Ham they will only entertain offers that will see Tore leave the club on a permanent basis.
Negotiations between the clubs continue with Besiktas hoping to secure more than £12m for Tore, who spent two years at Chelsea as a youth player.
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is looking to bolster his squad ahead of the new season and has already secured the signings of Norway midfielder Havard Nordtveit and Algeria winger Sofiane Feghouli.
