Andy Carroll will undergo a full scan this week, despite being taken off only as a precaution during West Ham's 3-1 victory at Middlesbrough.

The Hammers forward scored twice at the Riverside on Saturday, but was substituted in the 67th minute with a suspected groin problem.

Sky Sports News HQ understand the injury was not serious and Carroll is expected to be fit to face Manchester City at the London Stadium in the Premier League on February 1.

Carroll also played down fears over the possible injury following his successful afternoon in the north-east.

"I'm all good and looking forward to the next game. I haven't trained all week. I had a couple of days off in the gym," he said.
