Manuel Pellegrini says it's difficult to understand why his team are playing so badly after they were beaten 3-0 by Wolves in the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini delivered a damning assessment that "everything went wrong" after West Ham's second half capitulation in a 3-0 loss at Wolves.

Back-to-back Premier League defeats, either side of an embarrassing FA Cup exit to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, were confirmed by a trio of second-half goals at Molineux as Wolves put their visitors to the sword with relative ease.

After a nervous, relatively even first half which ended goalless, Pellegrini was left stunned by his side's poor performance after the break and unable to explain why they had folded so easily.

He said: "Everything went wrong. The first half was very close, a very tight game with both teams, we didn't create many chances but they created just one.

"But in the second half there was a team who was absolutely out of the game. We conceded two from set pieces, three goals altogether and they had more clear chances, it's difficult to understand why we played that way.

"During 90 minutes if you don't create one clear chance, you must be very frustrated. We are always trying to play in the opponents' side. Maybe sometimes you can be a team who isn't very creative while you defend well - but we defended very badly too.

"We must know why we are playing so badly since we played Arsenal, maybe too many games with the same players, we have so many injured it is difficult to find solutions, but we must concentrate in the way we improve."

Marko Arnautovic often cut a frustrated figure and looked isolated in attack, before he was withdrawn with injury 18 minutes from full-time.

Pellegrini added: "I think the complete team didn't have a good performance, not individual players. We'll see what has happened with Marko in his feet, maybe he has an important injury. I hope we will find out what will happen with him tomorrow."
