Manuel Lanzini is targeting the best form of his career under Manuel Pellegrini, after recovering from eight months out with injury.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder played his first Premier League game under the Chilean when he came on as a late substitute in the win over Fulham last Friday night.
Lanzini - a key player before he suffered knee ligament damage in May last year - has entered the last 18 months of his Hammers contract, although the club have a two-year option to extend it.
And he told the club's website: "I felt good on Friday but I know I still have work to do to get to my best fitness levels and best form. I am determined to get there, but I know I have to be sensible and not rush things.
"We have many good things to work for in the future and I am looking forward to playing for Mr Pellegrini and his staff. We have a very strong squad here and hopefully we can achieve good things this season and in the next seasons.
"I am sure the best is yet to come. After eight months of work and recovery, I went back to doing what I like doing most and what I love on Friday night.
"The sound of the supporters cheering for me and singing my name when I entered the pitch in the second half was unbelievable and it is what I have worked so hard for."
Lanzini could feature as West Ham travel to Premier League title-chasing Manchester City on Wednesday night before they host Newcastle live on Sky Sports on Saturday evening.
