Watford boss Quique Flores criticised his side’s performance and refused to blame the penalty decision that went against them during their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Yohan Cabaye's 71st-minute penalty was the difference between the two sides as Watford suffered their first league defeat at Vicarage Road this season.
The defeat denied the home side a third straight victory the league but despite the small margin of the defeat, Flores thought his side did not look comfortable against Palace.
He said: "We were not comfortable during the match because Crystal Palace closed the space. We tried to switch the ball but we had difficulties at times.
"I'm not satisfied with the performance, we always try and do our best and create attempts but sometimes it is impossible.
"At half-time we tried to change something but it was a normal match other than the penalty."
Flores was asked his opinion about Palace's penalty after Wilfired Zaha was brought down right on the edge of the penalty area by Allen Nyom.
But the Spanish manager refused to blame the the tight penalty decision for his side's defeat.
He added: "We didn't lose today because we conceded a penalty. We lost today because we didn't play well and Crystal Palace played better than us.
"We didn't have a good performance."
