Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores admits confidence is high in his squad ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
The club have adapted well to the Premier League, taking nine points from their opening seven fixtures, and Flores says, regardless of the result on Saturday, confidence is key to the side's survival this season.
"When we win it gives us amazing confidence, we're happy," he said. "When we lose, we're not happy but we're still confident, we always keep our confidence, that's the most important thing."
Watford go into the match against fellow new-boys Bournemouth in 13th place having won two of their three games in September but it is the competitive performances of the team which have pleased the Spaniard.
"We don't change, we work in the same way, we try to go to the next match to win. I think we have a reason to be happy because the team performance is always good, always competitive. It's very important to keep it like that."
Watford lost out to a Yohan Cabaye penalty last Sunday, but despite the result, Flores was delighted with his side's showing against Crystal Palace.
"When we lose, the important thing is to analyse what happened in the match," he said. "From the last match, we don't have to change anything, from the analysis against Crystal Palace, they're a strong team, one of the best teams in the Premier League this season.
"We didn't change much from the other games we won."
Looking ahead to Saturday's fixture, Flores admitted he knows little about Bournemouth but respects the side which pipped his to the Championship title last season.
"I didn't know Bournemouth, they were not one of the teams I knew before I came here to England. I need to read, to take in media about Bournemouth," he added.
"We respect Bournemouth because Bournemouth won the league last year, they were the best team in the Championship because they work as a team.
"They've started with seven points so we respect Bournemouth and if we're going to win on Saturday we have to give a good performance."
