Gerard Deulofeu could return to full Watford training next week.
The Spanish winger, who has been struggling with an abdominal problem, has not yet featured this season since completing a permanent switch from Barcelona.
Deulofeu, 24, starred on loan at Vicarage Road last term and scored in a 4-1 win over Chelsea.
Ahead of the Hornets' Premier League clash with Fulham this weekend, manager Javi Gracia said: "Gerard is training but not with the team.
"I think after one test on Saturday, we'll see if it is possible the next week (for him) to train with us. At this moment he's not ready.
"In the next seven days we are going to play three important games. I'm sure all the squad is going to play.
"All of them are ready and we try to choose the best line-up. The three games are very important and are very tough."
Watford have had a superb start to the season, sitting fourth after four wins from their opening five matches including a home victory over Tottenham.
