A delighted Quique Sanchez Flores insists his Watford side deserved their first Premier League win of the season.
Odion Ighalo's 59th-minute strike proved to be the winner over Swansea, despite Valon Behrami being shown a straight red card five minutes after, forcing his team to play for 25 minutes with 10 men.
After three draws and a defeat to Manchester City previously, Sanchez told Sky Sports: "I am really happy with the first win.
"We tried before in the first matches and we played against a really good team in Swansea. I'm really happy with the team. Finally we have a victory.
"We have to be very happy with the performance. The players are working so hard every day for the last two and half months, and we deserve our first win."
Behrami was dismissed for stamping down on Andre Ayew's leg during a challenge five minutes after Ighalo's goal.
And Sanchez said: "It was also very difficult to play 25 minutes with one player less.
"I don't know about the sending-off - my position was far away to see - so I prefer to have a look at the replay to have an opinion.
"But it's important to score the first goal here at Vicarage Road. We controlled the beginning of the match but in the second half we had a few problems with control of the ball, and Swansea played very well."
Watford's next Premier League game sees them travel to Newcastle next Saturday.
