Andy Robertson and Sam Clucas struck second half goals to secure Hull a 2-0 win at Brentford and lift them to the top of the Championship table.
The high-flying visitors withstood first-half pressure and broke the deadlock through Robertson in the 67th minute before Clucas added a second with four minutes left to ensure a fourth league win on the road this season for Steve Bruce's side.
With overnight leaders Brighton held to a goalless draw at in-form Sheffield Wednesday - Carlos Carvalhal's Owls extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches - Hull moved top on goal difference.
Burnley remain in hot pursuit and climbed above Brighton into second place thanks to another Andre Gray double in a 3-1 home win against Fulham.
Gray followed up his two goals at the weekend by heading home an 18th minute opener and struck again in the 37th minute to put Burnley in control.
Ross McCormack reduced Fulham's arrears in the 51st minute, but Matt Taylor made sure for Burnley with a third in time added on.
