Hull midfielder Isaac Hayden is expected to return to contention for the home game against Bristol City.

Hayden, on loan from Arsenal, missed the defeat at Middlesbrough last time out due to a knee injury but is set to return to the squad.

Boss Steve Bruce is hoping striker Abel Hernandez returns from international duty unscathed on Friday in time to be considered, while Shaun Maloney, David Meyler and Mo Diame are all expected to be fit after being away with their respective countries.

Striker Nick Powell remains sidelined as he works his way back from the hamstring injury which has kept him out of the last three matches.

Bristol City could have central midfielder Korey Smith back in the mix for the trip north.

Smith has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury during a 4-0 home defeat against Brighton five weeks ago, and a possible return this weekend has not been ruled out.

City, meanwhile, have been buoyed by the news that skipper Aaron Wilbraham is to remain with the club following the activation of a one-year contract extension.
