In-form Cardiff will look to take another stride towards promotion as they travel to Sheffield United on Easter Monday.
The Bluebirds have won their last eight games in succession in the Sky Bet Championship and could move 10 points clear of third-placed Fulham with another victory. Their clash at Bramall Lane is live on Sky Sports Football on Monday evening.
Beating the Blades - one of manager Neil Warnock's former clubs - would also put the Welsh side back within three points of leaders Wolves, who are not in action until hosting Hull on Tuesday.
The ninth-placed Blades will have plenty of incentive themselves as the battle for play-off places heats up. Just two points separate Derby in fifth from Preston in 10th. Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Millwall are the other sides firmly in the picture.
Preston host Derby, live on Sky Sports Football at lunchtime, and the Rams will be anxious to get back to winning ways after their recent poor run continued with a shock 4-1 loss to relegation-threatened Sunderland on Friday.
Middlesbrough were left holding onto sixth place on goal difference only after losing 2-1 to Wolves on Friday. They will hope their next task is more straightforward as they travel to bottom side Burton.
Bristol City and in-form Millwall, who have won seven of their last eight, will look to take advantage of any slip-ups as they face Brentford and Ipswich respectively.
At the bottom end of the table, Sunderland host Sheffield Wednesday looking to build on their victory over Derby, which ended a run of three successive defeats. Chris Coleman's side remain five points off safety and have little room for error.
The side immediately above them, Barnsley, travel to Nottingham Forest while, in the day's other fixture, QPR host Norwich.
There are three more games on Tuesday night: Bolton host Birmingham, Reading head to Aston Villa and Fulham face Leeds, with the latter clash live on Sky Sports Football.
