Crystal Palace youngster Lee Hills is looking to repay Neil Warnock for the faith he has shown in him.
The 17-year-old has become a regular in the Palace side since Warnock took charge and scored his first goal for the club in Monday's 1-1 draw with Bristol City.
Hills was also singled out for praise after the recent game against Ipswich and he admits the manager's comments gave him a huge lift.
"It really does give you a boost when the manager says something like that," he told
Croydon Guardian.
"I'm glad I scored a goal to repay that confidence he has put in me.
"I'm loving it. The gaffer's given me the chance and I'm grateful for that chance."
Hills lined up on the left wing against Bristol City and he insists he is happy to play anywhere to stay in the team.
"I've never really played left-midfield, only a tiny bit when I was younger," he explained.
"I enjoyed it against Bristol City though, it gives me a bit more freedom to go forward and I enjoyed it. I just need to get used to it really.
"I just want to play for Crystal Palace so I will do a job anywhere. I never thought I would have this situation I am in now so I'm really happy."
