Saints goalkeeper exits St Mary's on loan

Southampton goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has joined Championship rivals Ipswich on loan for the remainder of the season. The Pole was first-choice at St Mary's for a spell under former manager George Burley but has seen Kelvin Davis take over as the No.1 this term. Bialkowski has now elected to move on to Portman Road until the end of the current campaign to bolster manager Jim Magilton's options. Saints boss Mark Wotte said: "We have a few goalkeepers in the squad at the moment with Kelvin Davis, Tommy Forecast, Michael Poke and Andrej Pernecky also in contention so I can't guarantee Bartosz any football at this moment. "He was getting a little impatient so to be fair to him it will be good for him to go somewhere he can be a little more involved - and if we need him we can recall him." The move should allow current reserve goalkeeper Shane Supple to leave Ipswich on loan.
