Clough hopeful of having striker back in action by next weekend

Derby County manager Nigel Clough has revealed that striker Theo Robinson could return to action as early as next weekend. Robinson suffered a hamstring injury during the Rams' 2-0 home defeat by Hull City in the Championship on 19th November and has been sidelined since then. However, the 22-year-old is making good progress and could feature against Ipswich Town at Portman Road next Saturday ahead of fellow injured forwards Steven Davies and Nathan Tyson, says his manager. "Theo is probably the closest out of the three (to making a first-team return) in reality because he has only been out for around three weeks," said Clough on Derby's official website. "He is coming along well and if he progresses in the same manner, then he will be in contention for the Ipswich game." Derby are currently 15th in the Championship table with 25 points from 20 matches, five points above the relegation zone and seven off the final promotional play-off spot.
