Ex-White Hart Lane favourite insists he can still make the grade
Former Tottenham striker Steffen Iversen is determined to find another Championship club after parting company with Crystal Palace.
The 35-year-old believes that he still has the quality to compete in England's second tier despite reaching a mutual agreement to leave the 15th-place side.
Iversen has revealed he would like to play another two years before retiring from the game and feels he could still make the grade.
"That was my choice and the club did it to help me with my career," he told
Adresseavisen.
Good enough
"I can now join a new club for free as soon as possible. I believe I am still good enough to play in the Championship."
Iversen spent a chunk of his career at White Hart Lane where he scored 41 goals in 138 appearances for Tottenham.
During his time with Spurs the Norway international top scored for the club whilst picking up a League Cup winner's medal in 1999 after providing the assist for Allan Nielsen's injury-time winner.
Iversen returned to Norway in 2004 before attracting the interest of several Championship clubs in last year's January transfer window with Palace winning the race to secure the striker's signature.
However following his release at the end of January, Iversen, who has 21 international goals to his name, will look to extend his career as a free agent.
