MK Dons have signed former England international Matthew Upson following his release by Leicester.
Upson, who played 22 times for his country and was part of the World Cup squad in South Africa in 2010, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Sky Bet Championship newcomers.
The 36-year-old adds a wealth of experience to the Dons' central defensive options and will compete for a place in Karl Robinson's side along with Kyle McFadzean, Antony Kay, Jordan Spence and Tom Flanagan.
"We've got ourselves an experienced defender who has played in the World Cup and the Premier League. I think having good leaders around the place is important," said Dons boss Robinson.
"It's a unique one in terms of the mould of player we would usually go for but sometimes they are there to be broken if it's the right type of player.
"We are really excited about the experience he can bring. He's also a calming influence and a good character."
Upson has 450 career appearances under his belt at club level for the likes of Arsenal, Birmingham, West Ham, Stoke, Brighton and Leicester.
He made just five appearances for the Foxes last season, as they narrowly avoided relegation, after a number of niggling injuries.
