Greg Halford has joined Birmingham on loan from Rotherham until January.

The 30-year-old became Blues' second loan signing ahead of Thursday's deadline after James Vaughan moved from Huddersfield.

Versatile Halford has made eight appearances for the Millers this season but has been allowed to leave by boss Neil Redfearn, after he signed Luke Hyam from Ipswich.

Halford, who has also played for Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Sunderland, was stripped of the captaincy at Rotherham earlier in the season by former boss Steve Evans in order to help him with his game after only joining in the summer.
