Birmingham's Paul Robinson to retire at end of the season

Veteran defender Paul Robinson has announced he is retiring at the end of the season at the age of 39.

After a 22-year career spanning spells at Watford, West Brom, Bolton, Leeds and current club Birmingham City, Robinson has announced he will starting a "new exciting chapter".

The former England U21 has been enjoying a player-coach role at Birmingham since last year, after signing for the Blues from Bolton in 2012.

Robinson has made 763 senior appearances and scored 18 goals playing in both the Premier League and Championship.

On social media he said: "I have loved wearing every shirt with pride, I have played my heart out every time and I've achieved from a young age my dream.
