Glovers land Blues man

Yeovil Town have signed Birmingham City reserve team captain Sam Alsop.

Yeovil Town have followed the arrival of midfielder Craig Rocastle with the loan signing of Sam Alsop.

The Birmingham City reserve team captain joins the Somerset club on loan for the rest of the season, as The Glovers look to survive their first season in League One.

After impressing Glovers manager Steve Thompson when playing for Yeovil's reserves on Wednesday, the Huish Park outfit have boosted their central midfield options by adding Alsop to their squad.

In what turned out to be a busy Thursday for Thompson, the Yeovil boss was unsuccessful in landing Burnley's Gifton Noel-Williams and Wolves' Leon Clarke as well.

Noel-Williams joined Brighton & Hove Albion, while Clarke joined another West Country club in Plymouth Argyle.
