City striker vows to work on fitness
Alex McLeish has told striker Garry O'Connor to get himself fit if he wants a place in Birmingham's starting line-up.
The Scotland international has not started a Premier League game since the clash against West Ham in August.
The former Hibernian and Lokomotiv Moscow striker has held talks with new boss McLeish and knows what he needs to do to force his way into the City side.
Fitness
O'Connor said: "Alex has come in and he has said my fitness isn't great and that is why I am not in the team at the moment.
"I am going to work hard and get my fitness back to where it should be and hopefully I can start playing in the team.
"Alex has told me I am a big part of the squad and I'm sure I am.
"Hopefully I can show what I can do and do well for the club and the fans."
