Preston in contention to make debut against Notts County

Hereford United have added Birmingham City defender Daniel Preston to their squad on an initial month's loan. Preston has been allowed to link up with the League Two club to build up his first-team experience and should be available for Saturday's game at Notts County. The 18-year-old's sole appearance for Birmingham came earlier this season when he featured as a substitute in the Carling Cup defeat at Sunderland. The centre-half becomes the second Birmingham player to join John Trewick's side this season, with Jordan Mutch having made four appearances earlier in the campaign. Earlier this week, Trewick extended the loan deal of West Brom stopper Paul Downing, but allowed Lateef Elford-Alliyu to return to The Hawthorns.
