Meyler & Henderson to ink five-year deals

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has revealed David Meyler and Jordan Henderson are close to signing new deals at the club. Meyler, who joined the Black Cats from Cork City in 2008 for just £150,000, has enjoyed his best run in the Sunderland side in recent weeks establishing himself as a regular in the starting XI. Henderson has come through the ranks at Sunderland and he has impressed in his maiden season in the Premier League this term. The duo are poised to ink new five-year deals at the Stadium of Light and Bruce is delighted to secure the midfield pair. "We have got some good young players at the club, which can only bode well," said Bruce "The pair (Meyler & Henderson) of them are close to agreeing five-year deals and we are delighted. It's lovely to see two young kids coming through. "As far as I am concerned, the more the merrier. It's fantastic, it's good to see."
