Jack Colback has revealed it was a 'no-brainer' to rejoin Ipswich Town on loan ahead of other clubs.

Midfielder had no hesitation in sealing move to Portman Road

Jack Colback has revealed it was a 'no-brainer' to rejoin Ipswich Town on loan ahead of rival Championship clubs. The Sunderland midfielder spent last season on loan at Portman Road and was named Ipswich's Player of the Year after scoring five goals in 41 appearances. He had featured just once since returning to Sunderland and was keen to head out on loan again in order to build up his first-team experience. And, once Ipswich declared an interest in re-signing the 20-year-old, Colback admits he had no hesitation in joining Roy Keane's side.

Treated well

"There were other options, but it was a no-brainer when I knew Ipswich were interested in me," Colback told the club's official website. "I was treated really well here last season. The manager brought the best out of me so far. "I get on well with the players and I like the club so I had no hesitation when Steve Bruce told me it was okay for me to go out on loan. "There were other clubs interested, but that would have meant trying to settle into new surroundings. I know the club, I know the staff and the players and having enjoyed my time here last year, that was important. "Now I'm looking forward to playing some games, although I know I've got to get in the side first and that's going to be difficult because the team is doing well."
