Darren Bent scored a stunning volley to put Derby 2-0 up against Wolves

Derby striker Darren Bent scored a brilliant goal against Wolves on Saturday for his first league goal of the season.

The former England international rolled back the years to produce a moment of magic at Molineux, as the invigorated Rams race into a 2-0 first-half lead.

It came in the 15th minute with Will Hughes providing his team-mate with a fantastic chipped pass, which Bent sweeped home with a fine volley.

Tom Ince had given Steve McClaren's side the lead inside six minutes, knocking home from a save after Hughes was again involved, seeing his shot parried by Wolves goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

It was Bent's first Sky Bet Championship goal of the season - having made 12 appearances so far - but the 32-year-old has scored in the EFL Cup, scoring the opener against Carlisle at the end of August.
