Goalkeeper Scott Carson has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract to stay at Derby County until 2019.
The 31-year-old's previous contract, which he signed when joining from Wigan in 2015, was set to expire next summer.
Carson, who previously played for West Brom and Aston Villa in the Premier League, has made 59 Championship appearances for the Rams.
And he said: "I'm really happy to have my future secured here at Derby County for the next few years. I've enjoyed every minute of being here, it's a fantastic club to be at.
"On top of that, I'm really enjoying working with Steve McClaren and his backroom staff and it feels like an exciting time for everyone connected with the club. I'm really looking forward to the next two and a half years and seeing what we can achieve."
Boss McClaren said: "I saw Scott join the club from afar. I thought it was a great move for him and I have seen him develop.
"I don't know what you would have to pay for a goalkeeper of his quality right now, but it would cost us fortunes to replace him.
"If someone does well for the team, reward them. That's a strength of the club, who have always done that and rewarded their players for doing well."
