Derby have signed Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer on loan for the rest of the season.

Palmer came through the ranks at Charlton before making the move across London to Stamford Bridge in July 2016.

The 21-year-old joined Huddersfield on loan last season and played a key role in helping the Terriers secure promotion to the Premier League.

Palmer returned to the John Smith's Stadium at the start of the current campaign but after failing to secure a regular starting place, went back to Chelsea.

Derby are looking to emulate Huddersfield by gaining promotion from the Sky Bet Championship and they have now secured the services of promising youngster Palmer.

He will join Cameron Jerome at Pride Park after he made the move from Norwich earlier in the January transfer window.
