Preston goalkeeper Chris Maxwell puts through his own net in unfortunate circumstances as they drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest

Watch Preston goalkeeper Chris Maxwell score one of the most unfortunate own-goals of the season in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Goalkeepers Vladimir Stojkovic and Maxwell both impressed as Nottingham Forest and Preston fought out a draw at the City Ground, but unfortunately Maxwell will remember the game for all the wrong reasons.

Forest stopper Stojkovic made a string of saves during a first half dominated by Simon Grayson's side, before Simon Makienok eventually broke his resolve in the 45th minute.

With Preston leading 1-0, Maxwell denied Nicklas Bendtner, who saw a shot turned around the post.

But that pressure eventually told when a shot from just inside the box cannoned back off the foot of the post, leaving Maxwell no time to react as it bounced across the face of goal and into the back of the net off his heels.

Preston were thankful to their goalkeeper late on when sub Pajtim Kasami was denied a goal with his first touch by a diving Maxwell.
