Orient extend McCormack loan

Leyton Orient have extended the loan of midfielder Alan McCormack from Division One side Preston North End for a second month.

The Irish teenager has made four starts and one substitute appearance since joining The O's for an initial four-week loan, despite missing the last three matches through suspension after being sent off at Lincoln City last month.

The 19-year-old has impressed caretaker manager Martin Ling enough to earn an extension to his loan spell at Brisbane Road until November 1.

"Alan did well when Paul (Brush) was here and there was no hesitation on my behalf to have him for another month," Ling told the club's official website.

"He wanted to stay with us for a while longer, and he's the type of player we want in the current climate."
