Tony Pulis says he expects speculation on Saido Berahino's future at West Bromwich Albion to continue, despite receiving no bids for the forward.
The 22-year-old's future with the Baggies is once again under intense scrutiny and Sky sources understand Tottenham, Newcastle, Chelsea and Stoke are seriously interested in signing him this month.
In September, Berahino threatened never to play for West Brom again after chairman Jeremy Peace turned down two bids from Tottenham on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Berahino backed down on that claim, but has since failed to maintain a regular first-team place this season and Pulis admits the forward has struggled to recapture his best form, unlike Everton defender John Stones who was the subject of interest from Chelsea in the summer.
"The club has not received any offers at all, so everything is pure speculation. People talk and you can't stop people talking," the West Brom manager said.
"I've been more disappointed for Saido - the lad at Everton John Stones has reacted really well from not leaving Everton and Saido hasn't, and that's no disrespect to Saido or anyone else, they are just different characters.
"Saido has taken it a different way but he has been good round the place and that's all we can ask him to be."
Pulis previously admitted every player in his squad, including Berahino, was for sale, but only if the offer received meets the club's valuation of that individual.
Despite confirming the club has received no offers for Berahino in January, Pulis anticipates the rumours concerning the forward's future to continue until the transfer window closes on February 1.
"I told him at the beginning of the window 'the circus starts again, just concentrate on your football' and if something happens, something happens. I think he understands that from the last window," he said.
"Unless he's sold now or tomorrow or the next day, it is going to go through to the last day because you journalists will keep asking about it - it's a good story."
Asked if he has drawn up a list of potential replacements, Pulis added: "I've spoken to the chairman about the situation at the football club and we will see where we go in the next 10 days but there are people you would like to bring in and certain areas you'd like to strengthen but that will be determined by what happens in the next 10 days with everything."
