Transfer news: West Brom's Jeremy Peace happy with summer business

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is happy with the ‘sheer volume’ of transfer business the club has done this summer.
The Baggies were the busiest Premier League outfit bringing players in, signing 11 new faces as boss Alan Irvine revamped his squad, including the £10million record signing of Brown Ideye.
Peace is happy after the busy period and also believes the research the club now does on new arrivals is much better than it was previously.
The Baggies supremo told the Birmingham Mail: “Given the sheer volume I’m happy.
“We always say every summer that the ideal situation would be to have three or four contracts to do with existing players and three or four new ones to bring in. That would be the ideal.”
He added: “You don’t know what you’re going to get but all you can do is trust your research and I think our research now is much better than it was previously.
“We have a limited resource and it’s all about how we use that across the squad.
“There is always a risk but you try to de-risk it.”
