Martin Allen believes Tony Pulis can pull West Brom and striker Saido Berahino back together after the player's public criticism of chairman Jeremy Peace.

Berahino hit out on Tuesday after the club rejected a fourth bid for him from Tottenham because it still did not meet their valuation of him.

The 22-year-old took to Twitter to say: "Sad how I can't say exactly how the club has treated me but I can officially say I will never play Jeremy Peace."

He also posted a message responding to a negative reaction from many fans on the social media platform before later deleting it.

Berahino is now at risk of alienating himself with both players and fans at The Hawthorns, but Barnet head coach Allen, speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, expects manager Pulis to reconcile the parties and integrate the striker back into his starting line-up.

He said: "Tony hasn't picked Saido for the last three games so I think he's got a lot of work to do now to sit down and pull the parties together.

"I don't think they will fine him for gross misconduct or all those things they possibly could do. I think Tony will get them round a table and pull them together.

"He'll explain the bid they've had wasn't enough and he's got to get his head down now and start playing, banging in goals for West Brom.

"Tony will talk to him. I can understand him (Berahino) being disappointed. The money he was probably being offered to go to Tottenham was probably huge.

"Anybody would be tempted by that so it is a disappointment but the chairman holds the aces. It's his valuation so Tony will sit down and explain that to him.

"I think with an apology, the West Brom supporters will get right behind him and he will be a key player."

Allen also thinks West Brom have to be proactive and expects them to take a positive approach as they look to get the best out of Berahino.

He added: "Those days of ostracising someone and putting them over with the youth team and making his train in the afternoons that managers did to me when I misbehaved have long gone.

"He's a young lad, he's ambitious, he's a good player and he's been fed figures into his head for the last few months that he's going to earn a fortune.

"It's bound to destabilise him. The lad just needs a little bit of help, he needs some guidance from his agent and from Tony Pulis, who will get on the right side of him.

"It's about talking, chatting, helping, guiding. What, for me, is a tweet? Just a quick little thing someone has tapped in in a temper and he's thrown the toys out the pram.

"It's a silly little tweet. Okay, thanks a lot - push that to the side and let's move forward, get him in the team and get playing. That would be much better."
