Wolves manager Kenny Jackett hailed the finishing power of Benik Afobe after his double in the 3-0 Sky Bet Championship victory against Huddersfield at Molineux.

The second-half brace from Afobe, who had not scored in his previous four games, sealed the points after Kevin McDonald had given Wolves a 23rd-minute lead.

Jackett, whose side are now unbeaten in four league games, said: "Benik is the type of player that you want to get on the ball as much as you can.

"From my point of view I am continually working out ways that you can get him in the game. If he does get on the ball, if he does get involved in the moves, then I feel the goals will come.

"He has been a big player for us and he has only been here since January (following a £2million move from Arsenal).

"We think he has a really good future at 22 and also he has got his confidence at Wolves, which is what he was looking for when he came here. He has to continue his progress."

Wolves have enjoyed back-to-back wins since former chairman Steve Morgan surprisingly put the club up for sale last Monday, and Jackett insists off-the-field matters will not affect his side.

Reaction to Wolves' 3-0 win over Huddersfield in the Sky Bet Championship

He added: "We respect Steve's decision but for us we have to make sure we keep to our job, which is winning football matches.

"We have picked up seven points from the last week and that has given the league table a different look going into the international break, and most importantly for the players and supporters hopefully it breeds some confidence.

"The important thing for us is that our season is ahead of us and we have to keep building and improving."

Huddersfield manger Chris Powell was disappointed with the manner of the goals that his side conceded, as well as what he perceived to be poor decision making.

He said: "It certainly wasn't a 3-0 game with what we had in the game. But we actually presented them with the goals, especially the second one where we gave it away in a key area, and the third one was a breakaway.

Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town

"We felt we could come here and do something and yet again we have got in the final third, but we are just not selecting the right pass or cross and find ourselves losing the game 3-0.

"We needed to hold the ball better and make better decisions. We were not delivering the balls that our strikers and wide men want.

"We need to make sure that we have a chance in every single game and to an extent it was that today, but the end result is all that matters

"We know where we are and we aspire to be better but we have to recognise we are not in a league that is as level as people think it is. But we will be as competitive as we can be."
