Wolves' Ethan Ebanks-Landell has avoided surgery on a fractured foot - but will still be sidelined for up to six weeks.

The defender has visited a specialist after suffering the injury in training and an operation could have ruled him out for four months.

Ebanks-Landell's absence could still force head coach Kenny Jackett into the loan market but the 22-year-old is likely to return next month.

"Having visited the consultant, it is the better of the two potential scenarios for Ethan in that the fracture is considered small enough not to require surgery," Wolves' head of medical Phil Hayward told the club's official site.

"We will carefully manage the recovery process, which will initially involve reducing the amount of load the bone is exposed to, but if all goes well he is expected to be on the sidelines for between four and six weeks."
