Wolves have completed a deal to bring Cardiff City striker Joe Mason to Molineux.

Mason has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after making the move from the Welsh side for an undisclosed fee.

"We are delighted to be bringing Joe to the club," said Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett.

"We've looked at him for a while, and particularly back in August, but the deal couldn't get done.

"He had a good loan spell at Bolton and he's a natural number 10, plays best just off a striker I think. Getting the right partnership in that area is a key one for us.

"And since Afobe and Dicko have gone out of it for different reasons it's something we're looking to obviously try to improve.

"I like his work rate, I like his football, and I think he's a natural to play behind the striker in my ideal 4-2-3-1 formation."

After two Championship seasons with Cardiff, where he scored 18 goals, Mason made the first of three loan moves to Bolton Wanderers.

During those spells he scored 10 goals from 21 starts and a further nine substitutes appearances.
